Targeted Economic Development District (TEDD) Takes the Next Step

Lockwood Zoning Jurisdiction Amendment:

On August 23, 2016, the Yellowstone County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the petition to amend the zoning jurisdiction to include the following:

  • 8 Property Owners:
  • 16 Properties/Parcels
  • Three Zoning Types:
    • 14 properties – Heavy Industrial
    • 1 property – Controlled Industrial
    • 1 property – Agricultural/Open Space

The three zoning types selected are in accordance with the recently adopted Lockwood Growth Plan. Yellowstone County has not amended the county’s zoning jurisdiction since the early 1970’s. The petition to amend the current zoning jurisdiction was initiated by the property owners and was presented by City County Planning and Big Sky Economic Development on behalf of the property owners. This step in amending the zoning jurisdiction in Yellowstone County allows the newly zoned properties to be included in the proposed TEDD Boundary should they choose to participate.
