PTAC Attends Department of Transportation Small Business Summit

Rosalind Dix from the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) attended the Montana Department of Transportation’s Small Business Summit on Tuesday, February 12th – Thursday, February 14th.  The event is an opportunity for small businesses to attend various informational workshops to help with everyday business activities such as human resources, workman’s comp, IT security, employee benefits, social media management and more! One of the highlights of the conference was motivational speaker Steve Beck who presented on “How to Have a Great Day Every Day” and “Delivering Exceptional Customer Service.”  Steve Beck provided enthusiastic insight and tips on how having a great day affects you, your co-workers, your customers/clients, and your family.

Rosalind had a vendor booth set up for the duration of the conference which allowed her to talk individually with businesses about the free government contracting services that PTAC provides as well comprehensive services provided by all of Big Sky Economic Development.  On Thursday, Rosalind spoke during one of the workshops on government contracting.  Rosalind provided information about the PTAC program, an overview of the breadth of government opportunity for small businesses, readiness factors to consider prior to pursuing government work, as well as what first steps need to be taken to enter the government marketplace.

It was a great event that provided Montana businesses valuable information and gave the PTAC a chance to bring more awareness to the program so that the PTAC advisors at BSED and the others around the state can help even more businesses become successful government contractors.
